2009 Midwest Wildfire Training Academy
Details of the 2009 Midwest Wildfire Training Academy will be available in February of 2009. The MWTA will be conducted in conjunction with the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute’s Annual Summer Fire School and will be sponsored in cooperation with the Big Rivers Forest Fire Management Compact and the United States Forest Service.
The BRFFMC is a partnership between the Illinois, Indiana and Iowa Departments of Natural Resources, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the USDA Forest Service’s Northeastern Area State and Private Forestry.
All courses will be taught to NWCG standards. MWTA faculty meet the NWCG instructor prerequisites as outlined in NWCG Wildland and Prescribed Fire Qualifications System Guide (310-1). MWTA courses will be open to all students that met the qualifications requirements as outlined in the course description.
