The Midwest Wildfire Training Academy
The Academy is offered in conjunction with the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute’s Annual Summer Fire School and is sponsored in cooperation with the Big Rivers Forest Fire Management Compact (BRFFMC) and the United States Forest Service.
The Missouri Summer Fire School National Wildland Fire Training
The Missouri Summer Fire School started in 1933 as the Summer Fire College. The school is unique in its ability to provide practical skills that cannot always be accomplished through traditional field programs. They have added several new courses this year and revised others to meet NFPA standards for professional certification.
H. Alan Zentz Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship for one individual to attend a National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) 300 or higher level course.
The National Wildland Fire Training website was developed to provide a central location for customers to find training course information from all geographic areas.
National Fire Academy
This US Fire Administration site provides information on fire training courses and programs offered to fire service personnel.
Interagency Aviation Training
Supports an US interagency-wide goal to accomplish safe, efficient, and effective utilization of aviation resources.
Wildland Fire Training - Eastern Area
Provide and assures quality wildland fire suppression, incident management, aviation management, fire use and fuels management training responsive to the needs and direction of the Eastern Area Coordinating Group.
Illinois Fire Service Institute
Wildland classes at the University of Illinois Fire Service Institute are focused on acquainting firefighters and other first responders on the skills needed to address wildfires. The emphasis is on wildfires in urban and urban/rural environments.
